Stacy Martha Alowo Toto, a second-year student at Busitema University Nagongera Campus, has emerged as a determined and action-oriented candidate in the race for Guild President at Busitema University.

Pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Education (Languages, English & Literature), Stacy combines academic focus with a passion for student advocacy, making her a standout contender in this year’s elections.

Speaking  to journalists during her Courtesy visit to 87.6 FM  TBS Radio Soroti , Stacy Martha Alowo said her motivation, Stacy said, “I want to use the Guild Presidency to give back to the student community and change the status quo.

Stacy second left  with friends and TKL hosts.

There are many challenges at our university, and I want to be an action-oriented leader who addresses them directly.”

Stacy highlighted several critical issues affecting students across all campuses, including poor welfare support, limited transport facilities for Palisa and Namasagali campuses, and unfair tuition policies that restrict exam access for students whose families cannot pay on time.

She promises to advocate for fairer policies, better student welfare, and effective representation in university decision-making bodies.

Despite the challenges of campaigning as a woman, including cyberbullying and targeted propaganda, Stacy’s campaign emphasizes resilience, integrity, and inclusivity.

Students of Busitema University Arapai caught up  with Stacy in Soroti city corridors.

Her vision includes a unified student body and practical solutions such as a “one bus system” to ensure safe and accessible transport for all students.

Stacy also acknowledges the realities of money politics in campus elections but stresses that her leadership will focus on principled advocacy rather than financial influence, promising students a voice that will not be compromised.

As the Guild election approaches, Stacy Martha Alowo Toto has positioned herself as a candidate who blends passion, resilience, and actionable plans, making her one of the strongest contenders for shaping the future of student leadership at Busitema University.
