Soroti Leaders Urged to Champion Wealth Creation and Identify Citizens for National Honours

Soroti Resident District Commissioner (RDC) Hajj Imran Muluga has called on leaders and residents to embrace President Yoweri Museveni’s message on economic transformation and actively participate in government efforts aimed at promoting wealth creation and fighting corruption.
Speaking to the media on Thursday, Muluga urged Ugandans to pay close attention to the President’s recent State of the Nation Address and understand their role in advancing the country’s development agenda.
“The President of this country has revealed the state of the nation. We want to appeal to all our people to listen and understand the message of economic transformation and know what is expected of them, particularly leaders,” Muluga said.
He emphasized the need for leaders at all levels to support government programmes aimed at improving livelihoods and ensuring accountable service delivery.
Muluga also highlighted the importance of the ongoing anti-corruption campaign, urging public officials to uphold integrity while serving their communities.
The RDC further revealed that Soroti District recently hosted officials from the Chancery Department, who engaged district leaders on the process of identifying deserving citizens for national recognition.
“As a district, we were honoured to be visited by the Department of the Chancellery,” Muluga said.
According to him, the engagement brought together district and city leaders, members of the executive committees, political leaders and technical staff to discuss the identification of outstanding individuals who have made significant contributions to the country.
“The leaders were guided on how we identify our distinguished citizens who have served this country diligently and should be accorded awards for their important and meaningful service,” he explained.
Muluga encouraged local leaders to ensure that deserving individuals are considered for national honours, saying recognition of exemplary service plays an important role in promoting patriotism and dedication to national development.
The sensitisation comes as government continues efforts to strengthen public service, promote wealth creation initiatives and recognize citizens who have made exceptional contributions to Uganda’s progress.
