Emmanuel Muwanguzi, the Personal Assistant to former Bunyole West Member of Parliament Geoffrey Eric Mutiwa, has graduated with a Postgraduate Diploma in Legal Practice from the Law Development Centre (LDC), marking the successful end of a challenging academic journey.
Muwanguzi, who is also a lawyer, celebrated his achievement on Friday during a graduation ceremony held at Makerere University.
He attributed his success to hard work, patience, faith in God, and the unwavering support of his parents and former MP Geoffrey Eric Mutiwa.
“Glory be to God the Father! I have finally made it. Big up to my parents and my best friend, Honourable Mutiwa,” Muwanguzi said shortly after receiving his qualification.
He noted that pursuing legal studies is both demanding and expensive, requiring exceptional dedication and commitment from learners to achieve success.
According to Muwanguzi, only 600 out of approximately 4,000 candidates passed the Law Development Centre examinations, highlighting the competitiveness and rigor of the legal training programme.
The newly qualified legal practitioner pledged to serve with professionalism and integrity while calling upon fellow lawyers to offer guidance whenever necessary.
“The legal profession requires discipline and ethical conduct. I look forward to serving diligently and learning from experienced colleagues,” he said.
Muwanguzi also expressed concern over individuals who masquerade as legal professionals, saying such practices undermine the credibility of the profession.
His delayed graduation had previously sparked speculation among some of his peers, with many questioning whether he had abandoned his studies. However, his successful completion of the programme has put such rumors to rest.
The graduation ceremony was attended by former Bunyole East MP Yusuf Mutembuli, who praised Muwanguzi for his knowledge, discipline, and commitment.
“This young man, Emmanuel Muwanguzi, advised us a lot while I was still serving in Parliament alongside Mutiwa. He is disciplined and focused,” Mutembuli said.
Muwanguzi’s achievement has been welcomed by colleagues, friends, and leaders who described it as a testament to perseverance and determination in the pursuit of professional excellence.
