More than 1,000 patients from across Tororo District have to day received free medical testing, screening, treatment, and counselling at the Rotary/DFCU medical camp held at Tororo municipal Gardens
The one-day camp drew several health organizations that partnered to offer services ranging from general check-ups, blood pressure and diabetes screening, eye tests, dental checks, to HIV counselling and testing.
Angella Opio Akongo, the Governor of Rotary Club in the Eastern area, says the health camp was held under the slogan “Rotary Konyo,” meaning “Rotary Helps” explaining that Rotary saw it necessary to hold the camp in Tororo due to weather changes and the rising number of patients seeking care.

Akongo thanked all stakeholders, especially DFCU Bank, the prime partner, for enabling and supporting the camp to a success.
Moses Okot, a business banker at DFCU Bank Tororo Branch, appreciated the community for turning up in large numbers, noting that DFCU considered the medical camp a key way to give back to the community.
Okot adds that the camp also gave him a chance to educate residents on financial literacy as they waited for services.
Alice Abbo, a resident of Bison in Tororo Municipality and one of the beneficiaries with deep joy thanked Rotary Club and DFCU Bank for the initiative asking them to organise another health camp
