Hon. Shyam asks VP Alupo for Nagongera Road Upgrade, Tororo Referral Hospital, and Skilling Hub

Tororo Municipality MP, Hon. Shyam Jay Tanna has asked the Speaker of Parliament Rt Hon Jacob Oboth Oboth and Vice President Rtd. Major Jessica Alupo to intervene and upgrade Nagongera Road, establish a Referral Hospital, and set up a presidential skilling hub in Tororo District.

Speaking during the launch of the Kibaro Program at Municipal Council Gardens, Shyam says Nagongera Road has for long been used as a political tool yet it directly affects the wanainchi noting that the state of Nagongera Road kills the beauty of our town and strangles business, especially for traders along the road.

He also pushed for a presidential skilling hub in Tororo arging that while Kibuku hosts one for Bukedi North, Bukedi South and Tororo, as the mother district, also deserve their own facility to train youth with hands-on skills.

On health, the MP says Bukedi Sub-region’s population now exceeds 2.5 million people and he requested government to prioritize a Referral Hospital for the area to handle advanced health cases locally noting that they cannot keep referring their people for long distances outside Bukedi in search of specialized services.

He further called upon leaders across Bukedi to rise above division and focus on a shared vision.

The Vice President and the Speaker were present at the Kibaro Program launch, where several community development issues were raised.
