Ugandan technology company 256 AI Systems has officially launched 256Heart.com, a digital relationship platform designed to transform online matchmaking through enhanced privacy, identity verification and compatibility-based matching.
The platform enters Uganda’s growing digital services market with a model that moves away from the conventional swipe-based dating experience, instead focusing on helping users build long-term relationships in a secure and controlled environment.
According to the developers, 256Heart.com was created in response to the increasing demand for trusted online spaces where Ugandans can pursue meaningful relationships without compromising their privacy or personal security.
The platform targets Ugandans living in the country, members of the diaspora and foreign nationals interested in establishing genuine relationships with Ugandans.
Addressing challenges in online matchmaking
For years, many Ugandans have relied on WhatsApp groups, Facebook communities, Telegram channels, classified advertisements and referrals from friends to find potential partners.
While such informal platforms have connected some people, they have also been associated with identity fraud, romance scams, impersonation, limited privacy and restricted access to compatible matches.
Developers say 256Heart.com was built to address those shortcomings by providing a dedicated platform where users can create verified profiles, define relationship preferences and communicate directly with compatible members through a structured digital environment.
Unlike many mainstream dating applications that prioritise photographs and public visibility, the platform says it uses factors such as personality, shared values, interests, lifestyle, location preferences and long-term relationship goals to recommend compatible matches.
Privacy at the centre
One of the platform’s defining features is its emphasis on user privacy.
Members retain control over who can access their profiles, photographs and personal information, while identity verification and privacy settings are intended to reduce the risks commonly associated with online dating.
The company says this approach is particularly suited to professionals, entrepreneurs, executives, business owners, creatives, public figures and other users who require greater discretion while searching for a partner.
Four membership categories
The platform introduces four membership options tailored to different relationship needs and privacy expectations.
The Starter Membership, which is free, allows users to create profiles, upload photographs, browse compatible members, exchange messages and participate in community groups.
The Gold Membership offers additional features, including greater profile visibility, advanced search filters, priority matchmaking, encrypted messaging and private photo sharing.
The VIP Membership is targeted at professionals and high-profile users seeking greater confidentiality. It includes silent browsing, exclusive communities, concierge support and enhanced controls over photographs and conversations.
At the highest level, the Stealth Membership is designed for individuals whose careers or public responsibilities demand exceptional privacy. Members remain hidden from public searches and can initiate contact anonymously, with additional verification procedures before their identities are disclosed.
According to the company, the Stealth option introduces features such as selective identity disclosure, temporary media sharing and emergency privacy controls intended to protect sensitive conversations.
Global ambitions
Although developed in Uganda, the platform has been designed with an international audience in mind.
256 AI Systems says it plans to market the service to Ugandan diaspora communities in countries including the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Australia, Germany, the Netherlands, the United Arab Emirates and South Africa.
The company believes the platform will enable Ugandans living abroad to maintain cultural connections while expanding opportunities to meet compatible partners.
It also hopes to attract international users interested in building serious relationships with Ugandans through a structured and verified matchmaking system.
Growing digital relationship market
The launch reflects the growing role of digital technology in social interactions as more Ugandans turn to online platforms to build personal and professional relationships.
By combining identity verification, compatibility-based matching and privacy-focused features, 256 AI Systems says 256Heart.com seeks to establish a trusted digital ecosystem where users can pursue long-term relationships while maintaining control over their personal information.
The company says the platform represents a shift from informal social media matchmaking towards a purpose-built relationship service designed around privacy, trust and meaningful connections.
