Kapelebyong District has registered 1,849 candidates for the 2026 Primary Leaving Examinations (PLE), representing an increase of 222 candidates from the 1,627 registered in 2025.

According to the District Communication Officer, Emmanuel Opio, the registered candidates comprise 871 boys and 978 girls, an indication of increased school enrollment and improved learner retention across the district.

Opio attributed the rise in candidate registration to the continued commitment of parents and guardians to supporting their children’s education.

He described the increase as a positive indicator of the community’s growing investment in learning.

He also assured the public that the district remains committed to helping candidates achieve strong academic performance through quality teaching, close supervision, and effective examination preparation

The district has appealed to parents to continue working closely with schools by providing the necessary support and encouragement to learners at home.

Pupils have also been urged to remain disciplined, focused, and committed to their studies as they prepare for the 2026 Primary Leaving Examinations.
