Enyanda Dominic Maloba Retains USSSA Bukedi Zonal Assembly Chairmanship.

Enyanda Dominic Maloba has been re-elected as the Chairperson of the Uganda Secondary Schools Sports Association (USSSA) Bukedi Zonal Assembly following a closely contested election held on Saturday at the Tororo Municipal Council Chambers.
Maloba secured 19 votes to defeat challenger John Odeke, who garnered 16 votes, earning another term to lead school sports in the Bukedi region.
The elective assembly brought together delegates from across the Bukedi zone to choose a new executive committee that will oversee the administration and development of secondary school sports for the next four years.
In other contested positions, Higenyi Kasaja Musa was elected Vice Chairperson after defeating Ouma Denis by 23 votes to 12, while Kizito Reagan won the Secretary position with 21 votes, beating Nakhaima Thomas, who polled 13 votes.
Wadindi Mahad (Assistant Secretary), Ochan Martin Luther (Treasurer), and Okello Joseph Alewi (Organising Secretary) were all elected unopposed.
The race for Secretary for Women saw Okiror Caroline emerge victorious with 20 votes, ahead of Gimbo Maria, who received 15 votes.
The newly elected executive comprises:
Chairperson: Enyanda Dominic Maloba (Busia Boda Secondary School, Busia District)
Vice Chairperson: Higenyi Kasaja Musa (Busolwe Secondary School,)
Secretary: Kizito Reagan (Butebo Secondary School)
Assistant Secretary: Wadindi Mahad (Hasasha Secondary School)
Treasurer: Ochan Martin Luther (Kamonkoli Seed Secondary School)
Organising Secretary: Okello Joseph Alewi (Rubongi Secondary School)
Secretary for Women: Okiror Caroline (Rock High School)
Also elected as committee members were Olinga John Michael (Kasodo Secondary School), Mwanja I. Shake (Kibuku Secondary School), and Nandudu Aisha (Bugwere High School).
The election was presided over by Busia District Education Officer Mr Emma, assisted by Tororo Municipal Sports Officer Mr Owor Francis, while Mukisa David, the Regional General Secretary of the Association of Secondary School Head Teachers of Uganda (ASSHU) Mbale Region, observed the process.
With the elections concluded, the new leadership is expected to build on the region’s progress in school sports by strengthening competitions, improving governance, and nurturing young talent across the Bukedi zone.
