The Minister of the Presidency, Babirye Milly Babalanda, has cautioned members of the public against falling victim to individuals fraudulently soliciting money in exchange for appointments in the Office of the President.

In a public notice, the minister said her office has been alerted to unscrupulous individuals who are asking for money under the guise of securing appointments as Resident District Commissioners (RDCs), Deputy Resident District Commissioners (DRDCs) and Assistant Resident District Commissioners (ARDCs).

“The Office of the President has been alerted that some individuals are fraudulently soliciting money from the public, claiming they can secure appointments as RDCs, DRDCs and ARDCs,” she said.

Ms Babalanda emphasised that such claims are false and intended to tarnish the name and reputation of the Office of the President.

She clarified that appointments to the positions of RDCs and their deputies are conducted strictly through established government procedures, and any official communication regarding such appointments is disseminated through authorised government channels.

“No person should be duped into parting with money for such appointments,” the minister warned.

She urged members of the public to disregard calls or messages demanding payment in exchange for government jobs and to report any related incidents to the nearest police station.

The minister reiterated the government’s commitment to transparency and due process in public service appointments and called on citizens to remain vigilant against fraudsters.
