Timothy Byaruhanga Takes Helm of Bukedi Rugby Association.

The Bukedi Rugby Association recently held its regional assembly on March 15, 2025, bringing together representatives from several districts such as Tororo, Kibuku, Pallisa, and Budaka.

The key purpose of the gathering was to elect new officials to lead the association.

After a transparent and orderly voting process, Timothy Byaruhanga from Tororo Rugby emerged as the newly elected Chairperson.

Achadu Vincent of Pallisa was also chosen as the General Secretary. The two leaders are set to serve a two-year term, building on their prior contributions to the growth of rugby in the region.

In his acceptance speech, Byaruhanga expressed strong enthusiasm for the sport and reaffirmed his dedication to spreading rugby across all districts in Bukedi. He highlighted the importance of unity and consistent effort in strengthening the game at all levels.

He also voiced concern over the absence of delegates from some districts, stressing the need for wider participation to ensure inclusive development.

Discussions during the meeting placed significant focus on introducing rugby in more schools as a way of nurturing young talent and securing the sport’s future in the region.
