Soroti City Leaders Meet Emorimor Papa Iteso to Strengthen Unity and Service Delivery.

Newly elected leaders of Soroti City  on Tuesday convened a strategic meeting with the Emorimor Papa Iteso, Paul Sande Emolot Etomeileng, at the Iteso Cultural Union (ICU) offices to foster unity, strengthen collaboration, and chart a five-year development agenda for the city and the wider Teso sub-region.

The meeting brought together the Mayor-elect, councillors, and ICU officials to discuss priority projects and service delivery initiatives.

Francis Esudu, Mayor-elect of Soroti City, stressed the importance of partnership between government and traditional institutions. “Government cannot operate without traditional leaders. Today’s engagement focused on shared development priorities for the city and the entire Teso region,” he said.

Steven Ojacor, Minister of Information for the ICU, commended the incoming leaders for early engagement, noting that unity among council members is crucial for effective governance and collective decision-making.

Hellen Christine Amongin, Secretary of Finance and re-elected councillor for Soroti City East A, highlighted discussions on maintaining a clean city and supporting children’s education through scholarships and vocational training.

She praised efforts that secured 30 State House scholarships and five flying school scholarships, urging residents to seize these opportunities.

The engagement is expected to strengthen cooperation between political and cultural leadership, promote order, and enhance service delivery as Soroti City continues its growth as a regional hub.
