Tororo Western Division Kicks off Perimeter Wall construction.

The Tororo municiapality western Division has commenced the construction of a perimeter wall fence around its premises, with initial works on the front section already underway.

The project being funded under the Discretionary Development Equalisation Grant DDEG will be implemented in phases until the entire division land is fully secured .

While inspecting the site, the western Division LC3 chairperson Manyadi Al-Jamal said the initiative is aimed at improving security and preventing encroachment by neighbouring communities.

He noted that DDEG has previously supported key development projects within the division.

These include the renovation of the council hall through tiling and ceiling in 2023-2024 Financial year, painting of division offices in 2023-2024, opening of forest roads in juba and the Chamwinula Dadele road in the 2025/2026 financial year, construction of toilets at Chamwinula, Aturukuku and St Jude primary schools, as well as land titling and boundary opening of Agururu technical institute and the division offices .

Currently, the ongoing fence construction is part of the 2025/2026 financial year project under the same grant.

The DDEG is a government funding program designed to support local governments with flexible resources to address development priorities , reduce inequalities, and enhance service delivery at the grassroots
