The friendship and musical partnership between Cindy Sanyu and Omega 256 appears to have hit a rocky patch, with Cindy now revealing what she says sparked the fallout between the two artistes following the success of their hit collaboration, See You Tonight.

For months, fans have questioned why the pair, once inseparable on stage while promoting the chart-topping song, suddenly stopped making joint appearances. Cindy has now offered her side of the story, citing disputes over ownership, awards, and revenue generated by the project.

In a recent interview with Galaxy TV, the veteran singer claimed tensions emerged as soon as the song began receiving recognition.

According to Cindy, disagreements arose whenever See You Tonight won awards, with Omega 256’s camp allegedly insisting on receiving accolades that Cindy believes belonged to her.

“The song is mine,” Cindy stated, explaining that she initiated the project, sourced the songwriter, and handled the recording process from her own studio.

She further claimed that Omega 256’s team did not contribute financially to the song’s production, making later ownership disputes particularly frustrating.

Cindy also pointed to a decision she now regrets—allowing the song to be uploaded on Omega 256’s YouTube channel. She said the move was intended to help elevate Omega’s profile and was made in good faith.

However, the decision allegedly backfired as many fans began associating the song exclusively with Omega 256.

“People started believing it was her song,” Cindy said, adding that misunderstandings surrounding ownership eventually strained their working relationship.

The Boom Party singer also accused her former collaborator of altering an agreed revenue-sharing arrangement during the song’s distribution phase.

According to Cindy, a 50-50 split had initially been proposed, but Omega allegedly uploaded the song independently and adjusted the percentages in her favour.

The allegations mark the most detailed account yet of the issues that may have ended one of Uganda’s most successful recent music partnerships.

As debate continues among fans, Omega 256 and her management had not publicly responded to Cindy’s claims by the time of publication.

Whether the two artistes can reconcile remains unclear, but for now, Cindy’s revelations have shed new light on the business disagreements behind a collaboration that once united two of Uganda’s biggest female stars.
