Bugwere Giants Crowned Bukedi Province Zonal Mini Play-Offs Champions.

TORORO – Bugwere Giants FC were crowned champions of the 2025/26 Bukedi Province Football Association (BPFA) Zonal Mini Play-Offs after edging Tororo Police FC 1-0 in the final played on Wednesday at King George Stadium in Tororo.
The Budaka District side capped off an impressive campaign with a disciplined performance in the final to lift the trophy and conclude a tournament that brought together 14 clubs from across the Bukedi region.
Hosted by the Tororo District Football Association (TDFA), the competition served as a qualification pathway to the Bukedi Province League, with the four semi-finalists earning promotion to the provincial competition for next season.
Bugwere Giants FC finished as champions, while Tororo Police FC settled for second place after reaching the final. Malaba Tigers FC of Tororo District and Bumunji Youngstars FC of Busia District completed the quartet of promoted teams after their respective runs to the semi-finals
The final promotion list is as follows:
– Bugwere Giants FC (Budaka District) – Champions
Tororo Police FC (Tororo District) – Runners-up
– Malaba Tigers FC (Tororo District)
– Bumunji Youngstars FC (Busia District)
The outcome means Tororo District secured two promotion slots through Tororo Police FC and Malaba Tigers FC, while Budaka and Busia districts each earned one slot through Bugwere Giants FC and Bumunji Youngstars FC respectively.
The successful staging of the tournament highlighted the growing competitiveness of football within the Bukedi region and marked the end of an intense campaign that saw clubs battle for both silverware and promotion.
With the promotion secured, attention now shifts to preparations for the 2026/27 Bukedi Province League season, where the four newly promoted clubs will seek to establish themselves at the provincial level.
