Speaker Oboth Oboth Urges Tororo Residents to priotize Education, Fight Poverty and Embrace Monthly Cleaning Day.

The Speaker of Parliament, Rt Hon Jacob Oboth Oboth, has called upon the people of Tororo to prioritizeEducation, fight poverty by embracing government programs, and observe the National Monthly Cleaning Day to keep their communities healthy.

The Speaker made the call over the weekend during a thanksgiving ceremony for Hon. Richard Owere Machika, MP for West Budama North East, held at Paya Primary School playgrounds.

Addressing the congregation, Rt Hon Oboth said development can only be achieved when communities work together and take advantage of government initiatives aimed at wealth creation and service delivery.

The speaker cslled upon the people of Tororo to fight poverty by embracing government initiatives and also embrace the National Cleaning Day.

The event attracted high-profile leaders, including 3 ministers, over 15 members of parliament, local leaders, and hundreds of residents from across West Budama.

In a major boost to education, Speaker Oboth launched the West Budama North East Education Support Fund with  personally donating 30 million shillings in cash and leading a fund drive that raised over 100 million shillings to support needy students in the constituency.

Speaking at the function, Hon. Richard Owere Machika pledged to deliver services in all sectors and thanked the community for their support during the recent concluded elections

He also made history by donating a brand new ambulance, the first of its kind in the constituency  saying it will boost the health sector and improve emergency referrals.

Local leaders welcomed both the Education Support Fund and the ambulance, noting that it  addresses two critical needs in the area that is access to education and health care for unity, with leaders urging residents to put aside political differences and focus on development, cleanliness, and poverty eradication.
