25 babies borne at Iganga Main Hospital Christmas on day
Iganga Main Hospital welcomed a total of 25 newborns on Christmas Day, hospital authorities have confirmed.
Of the babies delivered, 11 were male while 14 were female, marking a joyful Christmas celebration for families and staff at the facility.
According to hospital officials, 20 of the deliveries were normal births, while five mothers gave birth through cesarean section.
By press time, most mothers who had delivered normally had already been discharged and returned home to celebrate Christmas with their families, while those who underwent cesarean procedures remained under medical care as they recovered.
Hospital management described the Christmas Day deliveries as a positive and busy moment for the maternity team, highlighting the dedication of health workers who ensured safe births throughout the festive day.
