Ugandan music superstar Jose Chameleone has revealed he faced a frightening health scare, as he was “rapidly losing” vision in his right eye before undergoing a successful procedure in Kampala.

In a heartfelt post to his fans, the singer, whose real name is Joseph Mayanja, expressed gratitude to God and the medical team that treated him.

“I thank you, Lord, for another great morning!! I thank Dr. Ludovica Tindebwa and the entire Kampala Eye Lasik Hospital team for my eye surgery and your hospitality. I was rapidly losing my sight on my right eye. I seek your healing as always, my Lord,” he wrote.

Chameleone underwent the surgery at Kampala Eye Lasik Hospital, praising Dr. Tindebwa and her team for their professionalism and care.

Fans quickly responded with prayers and well-wishes, expressing relief at the positive outcome. This is the latest in a series of health challenges for the singer, who previously battled acute pancreatitis and sought treatment in the United States before returning to Uganda in April 2025.
