Teachers of Bukedi College Kachonga and Mulagi Girls Secondary School in Butaleja District have joined others across the country in celebrating the release of the Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE) results.

According to the analyses, so far, a large number of candidates from the two schools qualified for university studies. Teachers have advised learners to carefully choose courses that are marketable in the job sector.

Ms. Antonia Eperu, the headteacher of Mulagi Girls Secondary School, said in an interview that the school performed better than it did in 2024, giving students greater opportunities to join universities of their choice.

Eperu revealed that the school’s best Arts student, Noeline Alionget, scored 17 points, while Patricia Eunice Natabo followed with 13 points in a Science combination. She said all the candidates’ results were successfully declared.

The headteacher attributed the improved performance to the dedication of both learners and teachers. She also revealed that the school regularly engages examiners to guide students on examination expectations.

Eperu discouraged parents from transferring their children between schools, noting that all the top performers studied at Mulagi Girls from Senior One.

Andrew Guloba, the school’s Director of Studies, said most of their candidates qualify for the quarter system at university. He encouraged them to choose appropriate courses and advised those who did not perform well to consider repeating.

At Bukedi College Kachonga, the best candidate, Kenneth Masinde, scored 14 points in a Science combination, while the lowest performer obtained one principal pass.

Mr. George Abuklem, the Director of Studies, said the school presented 32 candidates and credited the good performance to teamwork and discipline among staff and students.

“Students should not choose courses for prestige but for opportunities in the job market,” Abuklem emphasized.

Meanwhile, headteachers and directors of studies from other schools visited during the results analysis blamed delays in accessing results on internet challenges.

In the Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) examinations, Mulagi Girls Secondary School emerged as the leading school academically in Butaleja District, followed by Bukedi College Kachonga, Hasahya Secondary School, The Equatorial College Busolwe, and St. Mary’s Secondary School Kapisa
