He called upon fellow leaders to put political differences aside and focus on service delivery and development.

“We must forget politics and work together for the good of our people,” Lukanghole said.

The newly elected Speaker of Butaleja Town Council, Richard Muyagu, popularly known as “Kawonawo,” promised to mend relations between the council leadership and the technical staff.

He noted that the previous administration had experienced disagreements with council employees, which affected service delivery.

Former Butaleja Town Council chairpersons, Milton Mwima and Stephen Higaaye, pledged their support to the new leadership.

The two leaders said they were ready to guide Lukanghole and his executive team whenever needed, while condemning prolonged political hostility, which they said hampers development.

Meanwhile, the LCIII Chairperson of Himutu Sub-county, Amos Wandera, challenged Lukanghole to fulfill the promises he made during the election campaign.

Wandera also revealed that road rehabilitation would be his top priority in Himutu Sub-county.

Similarly, Ronald Wamagali was sworn in as Chairperson of Butaleja Sub-county on Tuesday.

In his remarks, Wamagali pledged to address the persistent challenge of water scarcity in the sub-county and called on residents and leaders to embrace reconciliation and work together for development.

The swearing-in ceremonies marked the beginning of a new leadership term across various local governments in Butaleja District, with leaders emphasizing unity, accountability, and improved service delivery
