Immaculate Girls Secondary School emerged victorious against Halcyon High School–Serere Campus on the motion, “This House Believes That Mob Justice Is Justified.” The team successfully argued that mob justice undermines the rule of law and due process, persuading the judges to rule in their favour.

Speaking after the victory, student Opinia Joan said the team won because it demonstrated that mob justice harms society by punishing people without evidence or a fair hearing.

Immaculate Girls debate patron Madam Adio Juliet Salume praised her learners for their determination and discipline, saying the school’s emphasis on debate and other co-curricular activities continues to build confident and well-rounded students.

Halcyon High School students acknowledged that they were outperformed during the contest. Eletu David Adonai said his team failed to effectively challenge key arguments raised by their opponents, while Esadu Isaac admitted they struggled to respond to critical questions. Both expressed confidence that the team would return stronger in future rounds.

In another closely contested debate, St. Elizabeth Girls Secondary School Kidetok defeated Soroti Secondary School on the motion, “This House Believes Governments Should Be Allowed to Conceal Sensitive Information from the Public During Emergencies and Crises.
