Ugandan international midfielder Taddeo Lwanga has completed a move to Kenyan football giants AFC Leopards, ending his spell at Uganda Premier League champions Vipers SC.

The transfer was officially announced by the Nairobi-based club on Monday, July 27, through its official social media platforms.

In a statement, AFC Leopards welcomed the experienced midfielder, saying: “We are delighted to announce that Ugandan international midfielder Taddeo Lwanga has joined AFC Leopards SC from Uganda Premier League side Vipers SC.”

Lwanga arrives in Kenya with vast experience, having featured for several clubs across East Africa and beyond.

Renowned for his defensive discipline, composure on the ball, and leadership qualities, the midfielder is expected to strengthen AFC Leopards’ engine room as the club prepares for the new season.

Beyond breaking up opposition attacks, Lwanga is recognised for his ability to dictate play from midfield and seamlessly connect defence to attack, qualities that have made him one of Uganda’s most dependable midfielders.

During the 2025/26 Uganda Premier League campaign, the 31-year-old featured in 23 of Vipers SC’s 30 league matches, playing a key role as the Venoms secured their eighth league title.

His experience and influence on and off the pitch were instrumental in the club’s successful title-winning campaign.

After finishing as runners-up last season, AFC Leopards are strengthening their squad with the aim of mounting a serious challenge for domestic honours, with Lwanga’s signing expected to add quality, experience and leadership to the team.
