The Soroti District Resident District Commissioner (RDC), Haji Imran Muluga, has said the parish-based mobilisation approach being implemented across the district is strengthening community engagement and support for the NRM at the grassroots.

Speaking during community engagements in Dakabera County, Muluga said the Office of the RDC, working jointly with the NRM district leadership, District Executive Committee (DEC) members, and sub-county leaders, is traversing the district using the parish model in line with the government’s Parish Development Model (PDM).

“The parish is now the centre of development and political mobilisation. That is where government programmes are impacting lives directly,” Muluga said, noting that the NRM has also prioritised the parish as a key unit for political organisation and engagement with party structures.

Muluga, accompanied by assistant and deputy RDCs, met residents and NRM leaders in several parishes in dakabera County, where  the response from communities demonstrated strong support for the ruling party.

According to the RDC, the opposition faces an uphill task winning support in rural areas.

Akello  joan , George Ocen, and other  residents, like the elderly women who have benefited from PDM and lived through previous regimes, expressed appreciation for the peace and stability currently prevailing in the country.

He also expressed confidence in the NRM District Woman MP flag bearer, Hon. Amigo Lea, and the district chairperson flag bearer, Hon. Bob Owiny, whom he said residents view as the right candidate for the job.

In Dakabera County, Muluga hailed  the NRM parliamentary flag bearer, Hon. Peter Edeku Edopu  who enjoys wide support, describing him as a capable lawyer who can effectively articulate the people’s concerns in Parliament.

He concluded with call to vote massively for President museveni and NRM flag bearers .
