Soroti district RDC Leads NRM Parish-Level Mobilization Drive Ahead of 2026 Elections .
Hajji Imran Muluga the Resident District Commissioner (RDC) of Soroti District has taken a leading role in intensifying grassroots mobilization as Uganda enters the final stretch toward the 2026 general elections.
Speaking from Soroti District Headquarters, the RDC, Hajj Imran Muluga, said the Office of the RDC, working alongside the District Security Committee and NRM political actors, has rolled out a parish-level mobilization drive aimed at consolidating support for H.E. President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni.
The initiative comes as the country counts down the last 15 days to the highly anticipated polls.
The parish-focused approach is designed not only to engage voters directly but also to enable comprehensive mapping of polling stations across the district.
According to the RDC, this exercise will enhance election preparedness by ensuring effective monitoring and supervision of both presidential and parliamentary elections.
Residents across the parishes, commonly referred to as Wanainchi, have reportedly expressed strong confidence in President Museveni’s leadership.
Many cite government programs such as the Parish Development Model (PDM), Emyooga, and the anticipated five cows per household initiative as key drivers of socio-economic transformation at the grassroots.
The further point is to improve electricity coverage, road infrastructure, health facilities, and the establishment of seed secondary schools as evidence of sustained development in Soroti District.
With much of the foundational infrastructure now in place, community members say their priority is economic empowerment, which they believe will be strengthened through continued implementation of PDM and related initiatives.
The RDC emphasized that the parish mobilization drive underscores the government’s commitment to inclusive participation, security, and orderly conduct of the electoral process, while ensuring that citizens remain informed and engaged as the election date draws closer.
