The Soroti District Resident District Commissioner (RDC), Hajji Imran Muluga, has outlined key achievements and gains the National Resistance Movement (NRM) government is protecting in Dakabera County as parish-level mobilisation activities continue across the area.

Speaking during engagements under the parish mobilisation strategy, Hajji Muluga emphasized that peace and security remain the cornerstone of Uganda’s development under the NRM leadership.

He reminded residents that the country today enjoys relative peace across all regions, stretching from Nimule in the north to Mutukula at the southern border, with a strong security system that has prevented the resurgence of rebel activity anywhere in the country.

Muluga cited improved road networks as one of the visible benefits, highlighting the modern road in Katine Sub-county  that connects Lira to Kona kamdin through the sub-county and district and stretches to  Tororo

Rural electrification as a major milestone, saying electricity has now reached several villages, transforming livelihoods.

He said  access to power has supported small-scale enterprises such as welding, food processing, and other income-generating activities all supported by Emyooga, the Women Fund, the Youth Livelihood Programme, and most importantly the Parish Development Model.

Meanwhile, Peter Edeku Edopu, the NRM candidate for Dakabera County, pledged to prioritize improved service delivery if elected. He promised to work closely with government structures to address community needs, including housing standards.

Edopu specifically committed to championing initiatives aimed at ending grass-thatched houses in the constituency, saying decent housing is key to improving health, dignity, and overall quality of life for residents.

The parish mobilisation engagements are part of the NRM’s broader strategy to connect with communities at the grassroots, showcase government achievements, and rally support ahead of upcoming political activities in the district.
