Lugazi FC have confirmed the signing of midfielder Hamza Mulambuzi on a two-year contract from Uganda Premier League side Mbarara City.

Mulambuzi, who spent one and a half seasons at Mbarara City, featured in 14 league matches during his time with the Ankole Lions and now becomes Lugazi’s first acquisition in the ongoing mid-season transfer window.

The lanky midfielder is expected to inject energy and physical presence into Lugazi’s central midfield as the club looks to improve its fortunes in the second half of the campaign.

Mulambuzi could make his debut later today when Lugazi face Kampala Regional League outfit Kisugu FC in the Stanbic Uganda Cup.

The midfielder previously turned out for SC Villa, Proline FC and Buddo Secondary School before joining Mbarara City at the start of the 2024/25 season.

Lugazi FC, coached by Simon Peter Mugerwa, currently sit 11th on the league table with 15 points from 15 matches.
