Halcyon High School Celebrates Exceedingly Good Performance in 2025 UCE Exams.

Halcyon High School (Main Campus, Soroti) is celebrating an outstanding performance in the 2025 Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) examinations, with all candidates attaining Result One.
According to the Headmaster, Onyait Paul Mark, the school registered a historic achievement in this year’s examinations , and he expressed gratitude and pride in the institution’s performance.
“First of all, I thank God for the results we have received. I want to inform the public that this institution has transformed minds.”
A total of 657 candidates sat for the 2025 UCE examinations, and remarkably, all of them scored Result One, qualifying for certificates awarded by the Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB).
“The quality of their Result One is the best ever. Our students passed with only A’s and B’s. We have no C’s, D’s, or E’s at Halcyon High School. This is an exceedingly good performance,” the Headmaster emphasized.
He highlighted geography, English, chemistry, and mathematics as the best-performing subjects this year.
He also noted that this was the second cohort of the new curriculum, making the achievement even more remarkable.
“I thank the parents who entrusted us with their children and all stakeholders who played a role in these results.”
When asked what he attributed the performance to, the Headteacher pointed out:
The commitment of parents in paying school fees and supporting the institution.
The discipline of students who remained attentive and focused despite their large numbers.
The dedication of both teaching and non-teaching staff.
Above all, a strong prayer culture within the school community. “We are a prayerful community, and we acknowledge that we can not do anything without God.”
Several students expressed joy and gratitude for their results , Egaru Cornerious Victor said he had anticipated strong performance.
“Yeah, I expected this performance. I got five A’s and five B’s. I am so happy and thank God for the performance.”
Amusa Philip credited his success to faith and perseverance.“First and foremost, I want to thank my Lord and personal Savior, Jesus Christ, because He helped me during this season of exams.
I managed to score four A’s and the rest were B’s. I expect to pursue a science combination at A-Level.”
Lometo Moses Ayome praised the school for transforming his academic journey. “The school is actually a nice school. I’m so happy because the school has really transformed me. I came here with 17 points, and now I’m leaving with one A and eight B’s, which is so great. I expect to join A-Level and take a science combination.”
The 2025 UCE results mark a significant milestone for Halcyon High School, reinforcing its reputation as a centre of academic excellence in Soroti and beyond.
With 100% of candidates attaining Result One and exclusively A and B grades recorded, the school has set a new benchmark under the revised curriculum.
The administration has pledged to maintain and even surpass this standard in the years ahead.
