There was jubilation and excitement at Jeresa High School in Soroti City following the release of the 2025 Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) results by the Ministry of Education and Sports on Thursday afternoon.

The school once again proved its academic strength, posting impressive results that have drawn praise from parents, education stakeholders, and the wider community.

The outstanding performance marks a significant improvement compared to previous years, highlighting the school’s steady academic progress and commitment to excellence.

Students, teachers, and administrators gathered on the school premises shortly after the results were announced, celebrating what many described as a well-deserved victory.

Speaking to the media, Deputy Head Teacher Oonyu Moses expressed his joy and gratitude over the remarkable achievement, describing the results as a reflection of serious hard work, discipline, and teamwork among learners and the dedicated teaching staff.

“This performance is not by accident,” Oonyu said. “It is a result of continuous commitment from our students who remained focused on their studies and our competent, able teachers who sacrificed their time to ensure syllabus coverage and regular assessments.

We are extremely proud of our candidates.”
He further noted that the school administration had put in place academic improvement strategies, including remedial lessons, regular testing, and close monitoring of student progress.

According to him, the improved grades are evidence that the strategies are bearing fruit.
The School Director, Menya Magret, commended both staff and learners for their dedication, emphasizing that Jeseresa High School is not only focused on academic excellence but also on nurturing disciplined and God-fearing individuals.

“Jeresa High School is a God-fearing institution,” Magret stated. “We believe that prayer, discipline, and hard work go hand in hand. Before the examinations, the candidates were prayed for, and we truly believe that the Almighty God has answered our prayers.”

Menya particularly acknowledged the spiritual support offered by Right Rev. Bishop Eciru Oliach, who prayed for the candidates ahead of their examinations. She noted that the bishop’s blessings gave the students confidence and strengthened their faith during the examination period.

Parents who gathered at the school to check the results could not hide their excitement. Many praised the school’s leadership for maintaining high academic standards and providing a supportive learning environment. Some described Jeresa as a beacon of hope for quality education in Soroti City and the surrounding region.

Education stakeholders in Soroti City have also applauded the school’s consistency in academic performance, noting that such achievements contribute positively to the overall educational standards of the area.

As celebrations continue, the school administration has pledged to build on the success and aim even higher in future national examinations.

With renewed determination, Jeseresa High School is setting its sights on sustaining excellence and remaining one of the leading academic institutions in Soroti City.

The 2025 UCE results have not only brought pride to the school but have also reinforced its reputation as a center of academic excellence, faith, and discipline.
