Butaleja Teachers, Parents Celebrate UCE Results.

Teachers and stakeholders in Butaleja District on Friday joined the rest of the country in celebrating the release of the 2025 Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) results, with schools across the district registering impressive performances.
Journalists who traversed the district visited several secondary schools, including Bukedi College Kachonga, Kangalaba Secondary School, Hasahya Secondary School, Butaleja Modern Secondary School, and Mugulu High School, where jubilations marked the announcement of results.
School administrators reported that all their candidates passed in Division One, attaining distinctions and credits across various subjects.
Mr. Yokosan Outa, Headteacher of Bukedi College Kachonga, Ms. Betty Nsisyani, Director of Studies at Kangalaba Secondary School, Ms. Nampindi Topista, Director of Studies at Hasahya Secondary School, and Mr.
Daniel Guloba, Director of Studies at Butaleja Modern Secondary School, expressed pride in the improved performance compared to the previous year.
They attributed the success to teamwork among teachers, students, and parents, and encouraged the successful candidates to enroll for Advanced Level studies to enhance their competitiveness.
At Bukedi College Kachonga, Latif Hamya, one of the top-performing candidates, revealed that he scored three As and Bs in the remaining subjects. He credited his achievement to the dedication of his teachers and unwavering parental support.
Latif said he plans to pursue Advanced Level studies with the ambition of becoming a surgeon.
Another candidate, Herbert Nafuka, who scored five As and three Bs, applauded what he described as the rejuvenation of Bukedi College Kachonga, calling it a traditional academic giant in the district.
Meanwhile, Ms. Annet Namulwa, a parent at Kangalaba Secondary School, advised successful learners to also consider vocational studies. She specifically recommended Butaleja Technical Institute as a viable option for skills development aimed at uplifting the district.
According to school records, Butaleja Modern Secondary School presented 51 candidates, Hasahya Secondary School had 267 candidates, Kangalaba Secondary School registered 36, Bukedi College Kachonga presented 63, while Mugulu High School had 57 candidates sit for the examinations.
