Busolwe Secondary School has been selected to host this year’s Bukedi regional secondary school ball games for both boys and girls.
The much-anticipated competitions will bring together secondary schools from across the Bukedi sub-region and are scheduled to take place in March, according to the official sports calendar.
The school’s headteacher, Musa Kasajja Higenyi, who also serves as the Bukedi regional sports officer, confirmed that the institution was chosen in line with the approved games calendar.
Denis Muhumya, an administrator at Busolwe Secondary School, also confirmed the development and called for fairness and professionalism during the competitions.
“We pray for fair play in the forthcoming games. Teachers should avoid hiring mercenaries to participate in school competitions. Learners must be given the opportunity to develop and showcase their talents,” Muhumya emphasized.
He warned that strict action would be taken against any school found fielding non-students in the tournament.
“We shall unleash an iron hand on those who dare to use non-school-going players. The integrity of school sports must be protected,” he added.
By press time, preparations were in high gear at the school, with ball pitches being worked on ahead of the regional competitions expected to kick off soon.
The regional games are anticipated to not only promote sportsmanship but also nurture young talent across Bukedi.
