Mulagi Girls Secondary School Crowned Best in Butaleja as UCE Results Spark Celebration.

The Headteacher of Mulagi Girls Secondary School has expressed joy following the school’s outstanding performance in the 2025 Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) examinations.
Ms. Antonia Eperu, the headteacher, shared her excitement during an interview in her office on Friday, describing the results as a historic achievement for the school.
Mulagi Girls emerged the best-performing school in Butaleja District, ranked 15th in the Bukedi region and 808th nationally.
According to Ms. Eperu, the school registered impressive performances in key subjects including Mathematics, Physics, Christian Religious Education, English, and Biology.
She attributed the success to the dedication and hard work of teachers, the unwavering support from parents, and the discipline and concentration of the candidates.
“I thank our teachers for their commitment, parents for their support, and our learners for staying focused throughout the academic year,” she said.
Ms. Eperu encouraged the successful candidates to proceed to Advanced Level studies to further their academic journeys.
Other Schools Shine in Butaleja
Other schools in Butaleja District that posted commendable performances in the UCE examinations include Bukedi College Kachonga, Equatorial College Busolwe, Hasahya Secondary School and St. Mary’s Secondary School Kapisa.
In Butaleja District, several school administrators are celebrating their learners’ performance.
At Mugulu High School, Headteacher Mr. Eric Haumba said the majority of candidates passed with grades A, B, and C, although a few registered lower grades.
At Bugalo College Bwirya, Director of Studies Mr. Tolbert Kiiza and Deputy Headteacher Mr. Joseph Mulunghwe echoed similar sentiments, encouraging successful students to pursue Advanced Level education.
Meanwhile, at Budumba Secondary School, Deputy Headteacher Ms. Justin Naboiga said the results reflected improved academic discipline among learners.
However, Mr. Mulunghwe of Bugalo College and Mr. Haumba of Mugulu High School also advised some successful candidates to consider enrolling in technical and vocational institutions, noting that skills-based education offers valuable career opportunities.
Education stakeholders across Butaleja and the wider Bukedi region have hailed this year’s UCE results as a sign of steady academic progress, with school leaders urging learners to remain focused as they transition to the next level of education.
