Butaleja district Khadhi Calls for Unity and Continued Fasting.
By Ambrose Wanagoli
The Butaleja District Muslim leader (District Khadhi), Sheikh Ramadhan Muserengu, has urged Muslims to remain united, promote peace, support the needy, and continue observing voluntary fasting.
Sheikh Muserengu made the remarks while presiding over Juma prayers held alongside Eid al-Adha celebrations at the Butaleja District Muslim Headquarters.
He emphasized that God rewards those who foster harmony in society and encouraged believers to observe the additional six days of fasting, commonly known as Sitat.
Meanwhile, Sheikh Yusuf Hamya, who led prayers at Ludodo Twaleh, stressed the importance of generosity and a deeper understanding of Quranic teachings.

He also called on Muslim parents to prioritize education for their children, noting that improved academic standards are key to securing competitive positions within the district.
Sheikh Hamya observed that only a small number of Muslims currently hold prominent offices in Butaleja, attributing this to low levels of education within the community.
In a similar message, Sheikh Abubakari Waiho, head of Ludodo Swaleh, highlighted the spiritual significance of Sitat. He explained that fasting the additional six days is regarded as equivalent to fasting for an entire year.
Mr. Jamada Kalulu, a police officer and Muslim leader in Ludodo, called upon the faithful to offer prayers for those who passed away during the fasting period, as well as for people affected by conflicts around the world.
The leaders collectively emphasized unity, education, charity, and continued devotion as key pillars for strengthening the Muslim community in Butaleja District.
