Fueling Young Dreams: Call for Support as Ateker Symposium Nears.
By Peterson Hiirya.
With just days to go before the Ateker Young Entrepreneurs Symposium scheduled for 9th May 2026, organizers are making a heartfelt appeal for community support to ensure the success of the highly anticipated event.
Speaking ahead of the gathering, George William Okoit, CEO of Lu’Ateker Concepts, emphasized both the progress made and the challenges that remain.
“As we take an honest look at what still lies ahead—feeding over 1,500 young people, securing tents and chairs, providing internet, and creating a dignified space for learning—we realise the gap is still larger than we can bridge alone,” he said.
The symposium is expected to bring together young entrepreneurs from across Teso sub-region, including Kapelebyong, Amuria, Serere, Bukedea, Katakwi, Ngora, Kaberamaido, Kumi, and Kalaki
The event aims to empower youth not with handouts but with practical knowledge, mentorship, and connections to help them grow.
Organizers are now calling upon members of the Ateker community and well-wishers to contribute in any way they can. Contributions may include fuel, drinking water, printing services, transport for youth from remote areas, mentorship, or financial support.
“If you have something to give, however small, please bring it. It all matters deeply,” Okoit added. “Let us not leave that gap unfilled.”
Despite the remaining needs, the team has already received encouraging support from several partners, including Bank of Uganda, Socadido, ADEFO, Pakwi, Voice of Teso, Eje Printers, and Mobicast.
TASO has also confirmed participation as a partner organization “We are already seeing the hand of God through the generosity we have received, and we are deeply thankful,” Okoit noted.
Those willing to support can reach the organizers via 0787415292 or info@luatekerconcepts.com.

As preparations intensify, the message from the organizers is clear: “Collective effort will make the difference, “Together, let us show that Ateker still knows how to lift its own.”
