The National Unity Platform (NUP) candidate for Bunyole West Member of Parliament, Peter Kaita, has officially launched his campaign in Busolwe, pledging improved service delivery and inclusive representation.

Kaita launched his campaign on Sunday at the compound of Busolwe Catholic Church, where he was welcomed by hundreds of enthusiastic supporters who turned up to show solidarity.

Addressing the gathering, Kaita promised to champion a “New Uganda” founded on unity, equality, and non-segregative leadership. He emphasized the need for improved infrastructure in Bunyole, particularly calling for the tarmacking of major roads to boost trade and ease movement.

He also proposed the establishment of an industrial park in the area, noting that at least one factory would help address unemployment and stimulate local economic growth. In addition, Kaita expressed concern over the absence of financial institutions in Butaleja District, pointing out that the lack of a bank continues to hinder economic development and access to credit for residents.

Highlighting his track record, Kaita cited the ambulance he donated to serve the people of Butaleja and a boat he provided for residents of Buhadyo in Nawanjofu Sub-county. He described these initiatives as evidence of his commitment and effectiveness as a leader even before assuming parliamentary office.

Peter Kaita is the son of the late retired Canon, Ven. Rev. Zeblon Jogiri Munghesi, a respected cleric who served in the Bunyole Archdeaconry before it was split into Bunyole West and Bunyole East constituencies.

Kaita concluded by urging voters to support his bid, saying he is determined to be a strong and result-oriented voice for Bunyole West in Parliament.
