Tororo Coaches Edge Referees in Unity Clash at King George Stadium

Football in Tororo District witnessed a powerful show of unity, sportsmanship, and mutual respect as Tororo District Referees faced off with local coaches in a friendly match played at King George Stadium on Wednesday.
The highly entertaining encounter attracted a large crowd of football lovers and stakeholders, with the main objective of the game being to strengthen the relationship between referees and coaches while promoting fair play and football development across the region.
The match brought together some of the biggest coaching names in the district and beyond, including experienced tactician Coach Abbey Kikomeko, who previously handled clubs such as BUL FC, Busoga United, and Mbale Heroes.
Also involved were Adhola Simbwori FC head coach Abdallah Kabwaago, Coach Oboth Michael popularly known as Morino, veteran football figure Elisha Madanda, and several other respected football personalities.

Referees from Tororo and neighbouring areas also turned up in big numbers to participate in the symbolic football gathering aimed at creating a stronger working relationship between match officials and technical teams.
On the pitch, the coaches narrowly defeated the referees 1-0 in a closely contested match. The decisive goal came early in the first half through Coach Isma of Tororo Police FC, whose strike proved enough to separate the two sides.
Beyond the result, the game stood as a strong statement of unity and collaboration within Tororo football circles.
Organizers noted that such initiatives are important in building trust, improving communication, and creating a healthy football environment for the growth of the game in Bukedi region and beyond.
The friendly match was widely praised by fans and stakeholders, with many calling for similar events to be organized regularly as a way of strengthening football structures at the grassroots.
